Healthy + Safety
]The health and safety of all students and staff is our top priority. In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we think it is important that you understand our efforts to manage the health and safety of all SMC attendees so you can make an informed choice in attending the conference. We are focused on taking all reasonable measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 at our event.
This situation continues to change daily, and as such, we will adapt and adjust our protocols and procedures as we follow guidance provided by the CDC and federal and local health departments, in our efforts to keep our students, staff and the community safe.
We will be continually updating this webpage with any new guidelines or measures we decide to take.
Face Masks
A face covering (over the nose and mouth) is required at all times in the convention center and at every SMC event, indoors and outdoors.
Social Distancing
Everyone is expected to practice social distancing at all SMC events. Seating in the arena and convention center rooms will all be socially distanced.
Temperature Checks
Every person’s temperature will be checked before they can enter the official check-in process at the hotel as well as each consecutive day of the conference. Anyone with a high temperature (of 100.4° or higher) will no longer be able to attend, or continue attending, the conference.
SMC Logistics Team will be on hand to help students determine the best next steps to get home.
Sanitization
Hand sanitizer will be available throughout the convention center to use as one enters/exits any meeting space. The rooms, seating and high touch surfaces will be sanitized throughout each day.
SMC Programs
We’re continually evaluating all of our programs at SMC to determine any changes we need to make to keep them in compliance with government and health policies and protocols. We will ensure that all of our gatherings will fall in line with whatever restrictions or protocol the state is recommending at the time of SMC 2021.

Again, anyone with a high temperature (of 100.4° or higher) will not be allowed to attend SMC. If you have a fever, do not travel to SMC. You will be able to receive a refund, according to our refund policy listed on the FAQ.

You will be missed, but we want you to get well and to keep everyone at the conference healthy!
If you have multiple COVID-19 related symptoms or test positive for COVID-19 within two weeks of SMC, please do not come to the conference.

You will be able to receive a refund, according to our refund policy listed on the FAQ.
